Well, hello.

It has been awhile since this site first appeared, but now that the rest of the story is complete—the Haya Safari part—it’s time to start work on the here and now part of defining who I am and what I write about.  Like the old Marine said, ‘You may not like it, but at least you’ll know it’s the truth.  I write novels, that is, fiction, because the main characters are in my head.  And I drop them into an historical time and place and they interact with real people who were there and who really did do the things I write about.  And I'll clue you in in advance, they are all related in some way. They are all part of an very large extended family.  And they all answer a basic 'what-if' proposition.  What I create is what Ursula LeGuin called the diagonal slice through a time.  Is it military, or cultural or social or all of the above history?  You tell me.
